Bobbie Bell
Originally from the Midwest, Bobbie has worked for the past 37 years out of Central Florida as a director, actor, playwright, composer, and teacher. He has worked for many companies and colleges including The Sharon Studio Theatre at Tierra Del Sol, Mad Cow Theatre, Rollins College, Valencia College, Seminole State College, Invictus Theatre, New World Theatre, Theatre Downtown Orlando, The Huron Playhouse, Tropical Theatre, and Kent State University. in 2017 he was honored by the Orlando Sentinel as best director for his production of Marcus; Or The Secret of Sweet at Seminole State College. In 2018 he received the inaugural Louise J. Witzenburg Legacy Award from the Gwendolyn Brooks Writers Association of Florida for his work in the arts, education, and community.
Recent directing credits include: 1984, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, Skylight, Marcus; Or The Secret of Sweet, The Brothers Size, Clybourne Park, Romeo and Juliet, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, August: Osage County, and The Pitmen Painters. Recent acting credits include: Henry in The Fantasticks, Papp Finn in Big River, Alfred Doolittle in Pygmalion, and 22 roles including the title character in Macbeth. The author and composer of over fifty works for the theatre, he has twice won the Florida Playwrights Competition for his plays: Pascua De Flores and Of: A Play of Artemis.
